Aurora teenager dies in Lawrence County accident
A 19-year-old man from Aurora tragically lost his life in a collision on Friday evening in Lawrence County. The incident took place around 5:29 p.m. on Missouri Highway K, approximately three miles north of Aurora. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the teen, driving a 2020 Honda Civic, veered across the center line and collided head-on with a 2012 Dodge Ram. Sadly, the young driver of the Civic was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Dodge Ram, a 36-year-old woman from Springfield, sustained minor injuries, while a 37-year-old male passenger experienced serious injuries and a 9-year-old boy suffered moderate injuries. They were all taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment. The authorities have notified the next of kin. This incident represented Troop D’s fourth traffic fatality of 2026.
