Assistant principal dies in Colorado car crash, daughter survives

The victim of a single-car accident on Interstate 25 in southern Denver was a middle school administrator and mother, Morgan Ray. The crash occurred on Oct. 28, closing lanes of traffic and the RidgeGate Parkway exit. Morgan, 37, from Aurora, tragically passed away in the crash, but miraculously her 4-year-old daughter, who was in the car, survived unscathed. Family and friends are now trying to cope with their loss and remember Morgan as a loving, caring, and fierce individual who excelled in her role as an educator. From a young age, Morgan's passion for teaching was evident, and she fulfilled her dream by becoming an assistant principal at KIPP Northeast Denver Middle School. Her family, friends, and colleagues remember her as being dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing environment for students. Despite the heartbreaking circumstances, Morgan's mother, Jimmie, is determined to provide the best possible life for her granddaughter, who is now growing up without her mother. Friends have initiated an online fundraiser to support Morgan's funeral arrangements and her daughter's future. Even as they mourn, the family finds comfort in believing that Morgan's presence is still felt among them.
