Appleton City man dies in single-vehicle crash on Missouri 52
APPLETON CITY, Mo. — A 79-year-old Appleton City man died Tuesday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash east of Appleton City. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) crash report, the crash happened at 2 p.m. on May 26 on Missouri 52, west of Route A, about one mile east of Appleton City. MSHP said the man was driving a 1997 Ford truck eastbound when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and overturned. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:05 p.m. by paramedic James Head, according to the report. MSHP said the man was not wearing a seat belt. The crash marks Troop D’s 52nd fatality of 2026. The report said next of kin has been notified.
