Analysis reveals 3 Michigan roads among the most perilous in America
A recent study conducted by lawyers at Phillips Law Firm has pinpointed the most hazardous roads in the United States, with three of the top 10 roads identified in Michigan. According to the study, State Road 3, Gratiot Avenue, claimed the top spot, while State Road 96 and Telegraph Road ranked third and fourth, respectively. The study delved into fatal crash data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Fatality Analysis Reporting System spanning five years. Despite some residents expressing surprise, the study revealed that Route 96 and Telegraph are among the highways with the third and fourth highest number of fatal crashes per mile in the country. Additionally, Michigan State Route 3, popularly known as Gratiot Avenue, was labeled the most dangerous road in America, with a significantly higher fatality rate than any other highway. The causes of these accidents were attributed to factors such as speeding, recklessness, distracted driving, and the diverse weather conditions experienced in Michigan. "Drivers need to be more cautious and considerate of others on the road," emphasized Harris.
