Ambulance crash injures multiple people: PCSO
A Polk County Fire Rescue ambulance was involved in a traffic collision on Tuesday morning at the intersection of US 27 and Lucerne Park Road. The incident resulted in injuries to multiple individuals, including the ambulance crew members, their patient, and the driver of the other vehicle. The ambulance, on its way to Winter Haven Hospital with a patient onboard, was struck by a black Ford F450 at a red light. Paramedic John Parris sustained serious injuries after being thrown from his seat while attending to the patient. The affected parties were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
