Altona man injured in snowmobile accident
DANNEMORA | An Altona man was taken to the hospital after he crashed into a tree while snowmobiling Wednesday night. According to the New York State Police, John L. Bushey, 55, was riding on a designated trail near Lowenburg Road at about 9:25 p.m. when his snowmobile left the trail and hit a tree head-on. Local fire and rescue personnel responded to the area and provided medical assistance. Bushey was transported to Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. While at the hospital, troopers interviewed Bushey and observed signs of impairment. Bushey consented to a blood draw to determine his blood alcohol content. The investigation is ongoing and no further details were immediately available Thursday.
