Accident on I-95 in Providence involving shooting causes 3-car crash
Police in Rhode Island are looking into a shooting that caused a traffic accident on I-95 South in Providence Monday evening. The incident occurred when individuals in one vehicle shot at another vehicle, which then crashed into a third vehicle. The highway had to be closed near Exit 39B for approximately two hours. Some individuals fled the scene and others sustained minor injuries and were treated at Rhode Island Hospital. One person with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound took themselves to the hospital. The state police mentioned that the situation appears to have been targeted and confined, as those involved were acquainted with each other. The investigation is ongoing.
