Accident on I-75 in Campbell County involving tractor-trailer
A truck that jack-knifed on I-75 south in Campbell County briefly caused a lane closure on Monday morning, according to a representative from the Tennessee Department of Transportation. The Tennessee Highway Patrol reported investigating a crash around mile marker 145 shortly after midnight, urging drivers to be especially careful due to very slippery road conditions in the area. By 4:50 a.m., all lanes were open again, as confirmed by TDOT. Images were shared by a department spokesperson. These incidents are occurring during a period of wintry weather leading to icy roads in sections of East Tennessee. The THP has been busy responding to accidents statewide. President Trump has responded by granting an emergency declaration to Tennessee in response to the severe winter weather.
