Accident on I-5 close to previous semi-truck fire site
A collision between two vehicles occurred on the northbound side of Interstate 5 in Encinitas, California, early Friday morning, close to the location where a semi-truck had caught fire just after midnight on the southbound side of the freeway. The two-car accident occurred near the Birmingham Drive exit around 8:30 a.m., causing a temporary traffic stop. However, cars were able to resume their journey on the northbound lanes shortly before 9 a.m. Emergency crews were still managing the cleanup from the semi-truck fire on the southbound lanes, also near the Birmingham Drive exit, which had led to the closure of multiple lanes for several hours after being reported at 12:30 a.m.
