Accident on I-20 causes closure at I-45, involve semis and Dallas fire truck
The westbound lanes of Interstate 20 at I-45 are currently closed due to a collision involving a Dallas fire truck, a power company truck, and another vehicle, as reported by Dallas Fire-Rescue on Saturday afternoon. The incident, which occurred around 12:40 p.m., was a major accident involving several semi-trucks on the interstate. Subsequently, about an hour later, while DFR crews were still at the scene, the fire engine was struck by another vehicle. The Dallas County Sheriff's Office attributed the crash to icy road conditions, and TxDot is on their way to treat the road. Thankfully, there have been no injuries reported from either of these accidents. Unfortunately, it is currently uncertain when the highway will reopen.
