83-year-old identified as victim in fatal New London crash, police say
NEW LONDON — City police have identified a city resident who died after a car crash on Phillips Street on Tuesday afternoon. In a release Thursday, New London Police Chief Brian Wright identified 83-year-old Reinaldo Cintron as the person who died following the collision. Wright said officers responded just after noon to the area of Fourth Avenue for a reported crash involving injuries. He said they located two vehicle operators involved in the crash, adding one was unresponsive at the time of contact, while the other was alert and conscious. Both drivers were taken to the hospital, Wright said, adding Cintron was later pronounced deceased. Wright said the other driver is a 41-year-old New London woman.
