80-year-old charged months after fatal crash involving car, scooter in Hyde Park

An 80-year-old man has been charged after a fatal crash involving a scooter and car in Cincinnati's Hyde Park neighborhood.It happened on May 1 around 9:53 a.m. along Erie Avenue at Pinehurst Avenue. The crash prompted a large police presence, shutting down the road.Police on scene told WLWT a Vespa scooter collided with a moving Corvette. The driver of the scooter died at the scene. The coroner's office identified him as 26-year-old Noah Patsfall.According to new court documents, the driver of the Corvette, 80-year-old William H Luken, has been charged with vehicular homicide, vehicular manslaughter and right of way-left turn.Court documents allege Luken failed to yield to oncoming traffic and proceeded from Erie Avenue onto Pinehurst Avenue in front of Patsfall, who was traveling east on Erie, causing him to fall from the Vespa and hit the Corvette.
