60-year-old Bonneau man killed in fatal motorcycle crash: coroner

BONNEAU, S.C. (WCBD) - A 60-year-old man was the victim of a fatal crash in Bonneau that occurred on Tuesday morning, officials said. The Berkeley County Coroner's Office was notified at 7:11 a.m. on Tuesday of a fatal traffic collision on Highway 17 Alternate and Church of God Road in Bonneau. The crash occurred at roughly 6:53 a.m. and involved a Kawasaki motorcycle and a Ford pickup truck, the South Carolina Highway Patrol said. Bryan M. Rodger, 60, of Bonneau, was the sole occupant of the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of injuries sustained during the crash. The driver of the Ford truck was not injured. Officials said that the Ford truck struck the motorcycle while both were traveling south on U.S. 17A, while the motorcycle was trying to turn onto Church of God Road. BCCO, along with the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office, SCHP, Berkeley County EMS, and North Berkeley Fire & Rescue all responded to the incident. This incident remains under investigation by BCCO and SCHP.
