Houston man killed in fatal crash in Starr County, Texas DPS says
HOUSTON (CW39) — A Houston man was killed in a fatal car crash in Starr County, Texas Department of Public Safety officials said. The crash happened around 1:40 p.m. Friday on FM 755 North near FM 1017 in La Gloria. The preliminary investigation by Texas DPS troopers said that a silver Dodge Ram pickup that was towing a trailer was going northbound on FM 755 when a gray Dodge 1500 pickup going southbound veered into the northbound lane and collided with the trailer after the driver of the Ram pickup swerved to avoid a head-on collision. The passenger of the Dodge 1500 pickup truck, identified as Noelio Garza Pena, 67, of Houston, was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the of the Dodge 1500 pickup truck was taken to McAllen Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, officials said. The driver of the Ram truck did not need any medical attention. DPS troopers are investigating the crash.
