5 people taken to hospital following collision with Los Angeles Fire Department ambulance in Arleta
Five individuals were taken to the hospital due to an accident involving an ambulance from the Los Angeles Fire Department in Arleta on Sunday evening. The collision occurred at the Woodman Avenue and Chase Street intersection around 8 p.m., as stated in a press release from an LAFD representative. Reports indicate that the ambulance, carrying an 81-year-old woman and a 94-year-old man to the hospital, crashed with an SUV whose driver allegedly made an "unsafe turn," according to the LAPD's Valley Traffic Division. In addition to the ambulance passengers, three others were hospitalized after the incident. The SUV driver, a 34-year-old man, was seriously injured, while the ambulance driver and another occupant were in stable condition. The LAPD mentioned that the injuries sustained by the SUV driver suggested a lack of seatbelt usage. The cause of the accident was being investigated by the LAPD as of Monday morning. Details of the crash scene, including the damaged SUV next to the ambulance, were observed by SkyCal overhead on Sunday night, with the area cordoned off for the police investigation.
