HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — Five people were taken to the hospital Monday afternoon after a major crash on U.S. 41 in Hernando County. The crash happened just before 4:30 p.m., south of Southern Hills Boulevard, and involved three vehicles, according to Hernando County Fire Rescue. Firefighters said they arrived to find multiple injured patients. Photos from the scene showed the three damaged vehicles, one of which had its hood torn off and front windshield shattered.
