5 people, including 2 children, killed in head-on crash in Marble Falls
AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Five people were killed, including two children, after a three-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 281 in Marble Falls on Sunday evening, according to the Marble Falls Police Department. The crash happened around 4:59 p.m. in the 3100 block of south U.S. Highway 281. Police said a pickup truck, driven by 80-year-old Antonio Lara, of Lago Vista, was traveling northbound on South U.S. Highway 281 when the vehicle crossed into the southbound lanes. According to police, a pickup truck sideswiped the rear of a white BMW. The car sustained minor injuries. Police did not provide the injuries for those occupants. The vehicle continued traveling northbound in the southbound lanes and collided head-on with a silver Hyundai. Marble Falls Police said all passengers in that vehicle died at the scene. They were identified as, 50-year-old Roxanne Mowrey, 55-year-old Ron Dykes, and two children, 3 and 5-year-olds. Lara, the driver of the pickup truck, also died at the scene, MFPD said.
