5 hurt in crash on US 285 near Pine Junction
A head-on collision occurred on US 285 near Pine Junction on Sunday morning, resulting in two injuries. The crash involved a Ford SUV and a Jeep SUV at around 10 a.m. near the Jubilee Trail intersection. The Elk Creek Fire Department responded to the scene where five individuals were involved. However, only two people were injured, including an 18-year-old man who was driving the Jeep. The teenager was taken to the hospital, with the extent of his injuries unknown. The driver of the Ford was unharmed, while their passenger suffered a broken finger and was also hospitalized. The cause of the accident is currently being investigated. Initially, both directions of the highway were closed but later reopened.
