4 injured after crash in Madison County; 2 airlifted to Indianapolis for treatment
MADISON COUNTY, Ind. -- An investigation is underway after a serious crash left four people injured in Madison County on Tuesday afternoon. Deputies with the Madison County Sheriff's Department responded around 2:30 p.m. to the 5000 block of SR 67 after receiving reports that a serious accident occurred in the area. Deputies arrived on the scene and observed a 2016 Ford Explorer and a 2026 Chevy Silverado that were involved in the incident. Preliminary information indicates that the Ford Explorer was traveling southbound on SR 67 when the vehicle reportedly crossed over the center median and struck the Chevy Silverado as it was heading northbound. The drivers of both vehicles were transported to St. Vincent Hospital in Anderson for treatment of "minor" injuries, MCSD said. Additionally, two passengers from each vehicle were flown to St. Vincent Hospital on 86th Street and Methodist Hospital for medical treatment. As of this article's publication, their conditions were not provided. The accident remains under active investigation by the Madison County Sheriff’s Department Accident Investigation Team.
