38-year-old killed in fatal head-on crash with semi-truck in Martin County
MARTIN COUNTY, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) - A 38-year-old man was killed Friday night in a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 176 in Martin County, according to a crash report from the Texas Department of Public Safety. Officials say the crash happened around 10 p.m. on April 17 near mile marker 275 after a 2008 GMC Sierra traveling eastbound on SH 176 attempted to pass to the left without sufficient clearance and collided head-on with a westbound 2005 Peterbilt 379 hauling a trailer. The driver of the GMC, identified as Gerardo Valdez-Amador, 38, of Joshua, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck, Juan Alvarez Medrano, 37, of Porter, was not injured. DPS said the crash remains under investigation.
