3 seriously injured after multi-car crash in Waterbury

WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — Three people are in the hospital with serious injuries after a multi-vehicle crash on Sunday in Waterbury, according to first responders. Crews responded around 4:45 p.m. to the area of Chase Avenue and Kenneth Circle for a reported two-vehicle crash. Arriving units found three victims, including one who needed to be extricated from the vehicle, according to the fire department. The victim was freed from the vehicle around 5:17 p.m., and all three victims were taken to a local hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. A large oil spill was created by the crash and a sand truck was called in to treat the roadway. The area remains closed as law enforcements continues to investigate the crash.
