3 people airlifted after crash at Santa Teresa Airport

SANTA TERESA, N.M. (KRQE) – Three people were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries following a plane crash at the Santa Teresa Airport Friday morning. NMSP, Doña Ana Fire Rescue, Sunland Park Fire responded to the crash along 8100 Airport Rd around 11 a.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found that two occupants had already been removed from the aircraft by witnesses. A third passenger was trapped inside the wreckage and was rescued following extrication efforts by firefighters on scene. Two patients were airlifted to area hospitals while a third patient was transported by ground ambulance, Doña Ana County confirmed. The FAA has been notified.
