3 killed in crash involving wrong-way driver on I-88 in Aurora early Sunday morning, Illinois State Police say
AURORA, Ill. — Three people were killed in a crash involving a wrong-way driver on I-88 early Sunday morning in west suburban Aurora, according to Illinois State Police. ISP says a car was going east in the westbound lanes of I-88 at milepost 112.25 around 4 a.m. when it hit another car head-on. Three people suffered life-threatening injuries and were subsequently pronounced dead. According to reports, including the Chicago Sun-Times, authorities say one of those killed was the driver and lone occupant of the wrong-way vehicle, and the other two killed were in the car that it hit. Authorities have not released any of their identities, and no further information is available at this time.
