3 injured in fiery two-car crash on Route 66 in Portland, police say

PORTLAND — Three people were injured in a fiery crash on Route 66 west in Portland early Thursday, according to police. The two-car crash occurred on Route 66, also known as Portland-Cobalt Road, just before 3 a.m., police said. Police said both vehicles involved in the crash were heavily damaged due to catching on fire, and an Eversource utility pole was damaged. Two occupants of one vehicle and a person from the other were transported to Hartford Hospital, police said. All of their injuries varied, police said, but all were in stable condition following the crash. Police ask anyone with information on the crash to call PPD at 860-342-6780.
