3-car crash kills two Iowans in Crystal River, Florida Highway Patrol says

CRYSTAL RIVER, Fla. (WFLA) — A three-car crash that occurred in Crystal River on Friday night claimed the lives of two Iowans, the Florida Highway Patrol said. At around 9 p.m., a Ford F250, driven by a 27-year-old Lecanto man, was traveling south on U.S. 19, approaching the intersection with West Venable Street. At the same time, a Buick Enclave, driven by a 73-year-old Iowa man, was traveling north on U.S. 19. The Ford turned left into the path of the Buick, pushing it into the path of a third car, a Dodge 2500. The Ford driver and female passenger were uninjured, as were the two men in the Dodge 2500. The driver of the Buick was transported to the hospital with minor injuries, but his passengers, two Iowa women ages 71 and 78, suffered fatal injuries at the scene, FHP said.
