27-year-old motorcyclist dies after crash with sedan in Prince George

PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 27-year-old motorcyclist is dead after a crash with a sedan in Prince George County late Wednesday evening. At about 11 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, Prince George County Police Department officers and and Prince George County Fire and EMS personnel were called to the intersection of Jefferson Park and Owens Way for a crash involving a motorcycle and a sedan. Police said a preliminary investigation reveals that a 2016 Kawasaki motorcycle collided with a 2017 Genesis in the intersection. The driver of the motorcycle, 27-year-old Joseph Skinner of Hopewell, died at the scene, according to police. The driver of the Genesis had serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Southside Regional Medical Center for treatment. The Prince George County Police Crash Reconstruction Team is currentlyinvestigating the scene to assess all contributing factors. The intersection was closed for several hours, but has since reopened to traffic, police said.
