21-year-old named as victim in Hwy 41 crash that killed 5 people

KINGS COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A 21-year-old was named as another victim of a Highway 41 crash that claimed the lives of five people over the weekend. According to the California Highway Patrol, five people were killed on Highway 41, near York Avenue, in Kings County on Sunday morning. One of the drivers killed in the crash was named earlier this week; on Thursday, another person killed in the crash was named by his family. Family confirmed that 21-year-old JJ Michael Grimaldo was also killed when a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado collided head-on with a 2022 Toyota Prius. The Chevrolet overturned and was engulfed in flames, killing the driver and three passengers. A GoFundMe online fundraiser has been set up to help JJ Michael Grimaldo's family following the deadly crash. The fundraiser states that JJ Michael and his fiancée were "joined at the hip and were inseparable," adding that his loss has been devastating to those who knew him.
