2026 Memorial Day weekend sees 1 fatal crash, 20 DUI arrests: CSP

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Connecticut State Police on Tuesday released their traffic statistics for the 2026 Memorial Day weekend. The stats account for the period from midnight on Friday, May 22, to 11:59 p.m. Monday, May 25. According to the stats, state police arrested about 20 people for allegedly driving under the influence. Out of 296 crashes overall, authorities said one person died in Windsor, 14 people were injured, and none had serious injuries. Additionally, state police conducted about 810 traffic stops and 4,017 calls for service. State police also provided about 147 traffic-related services, including debris removal, assisting with disabled or hazardous motor vehicles, etc.
