20-year-old killed in York County motorcycle crash identified: coroner
The York County Coroner's Office has identified the man killed in a motorcycle crash early Wednesday in Hanover. Jacob Mummert, 20, was declared dead at 6:36 a.m. after crashing near the intersection of Carlisle Street and Eisenhower Road, the coroner's office announced. The crash happened around 5:13 a.m., according to police, when Mummert hit a trailer that was being towed by a 2006 Chevrolet 3500 after failing to stop at a red light, the coroner's report noted. The cause of death was ruled blunt force trauma. According to the report, Mummert was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. A GoFundMe was started on behalf of Mummert's family after his tragic passing to help with funeral expenses and creating shirts for his family to remember him by. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact police through York County 911 or at 717-637-5575.
