2 people saved in North Carolina 540 accident after SUV overturns and collides on its side against barrier close to Holly Springs
Emergency responders rescued two individuals trapped in a red SUV that had been crushed against a wall in a crash on NC 540 Toll near Holly Springs. The incident, involving a Dodge Ram pickup truck and the SUV, occurred at around 12:15 p.m. Emergency crews successfully extricated the man and woman from the SUV, and they were later taken to a hospital for treatment. Fortunately, their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The crash was caused when the driver of the pickup truck stopped on the shoulder to retrieve a fallen birdcage, leading to the SUV swerving to avoid it and subsequently losing control. The driver of the pickup truck was cited for not securing their load. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is currently investigating the scene.
