Two young men were killed in an early-morning single-vehicle crash in Garden Grove, authorities said. The fatal collision occurred in the 12900 block of Brookhurst Street at 2:42 a.m. Saturday, according to Garden Grove Police Department (GGPD) officials. “Officers arrived on scene and located a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado that had veered off the roadway and collided with a tree,” GGPD said in a media release. “The driver was trapped inside the vehicle and the passenger had been ejected.” Orange County Fire Authority first responders pronounced the two victims dead at the scene. They were only identified as an 18-year-old man and a 22-year-old man, both Westminster residents. The cause of the crash was not immediately determined. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has video footage of it is asked to contact Garden Grove Police Department Traffic Investigator Reed at 714-741-5230. GGPD’s Neighborhood Traffic Unit has assumed the investigation into the incident.
