2 killed in wrong-way crash on I-40 in Smith County

SMITH COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Two people were killed in a head-on crash on Interstate 40 in Smith County Sunday night. The crash happened in the eastbound lanes near mile marker 258 around 11:30 p.m. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), 21-year-old Chase Pulley, of California, was driving a 2015 Honda CRV west in the eastbound lanes when it crashed head-on into a 2024 Nissan Sentra traveling east. Both Pulley and the driver of the Nissan, identified as 20-year-old Breanna Sullivan, were killed in the crash, per THP. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. The roadway remained closed through the morning hours but has since reopened. No additional information was immediately released.
