2 killed, 2 hurt in accident near Lincoln
Tragic news out of Lewis & Clark County as a collision between two vehicles resulted in the loss of two lives and injuries to two others on Sunday, January 4, 2026. The incident occurred around 11 miles east of Lincoln on Montana Highway 200, near mile marker 84, at approximately 9:45 a.m. The Ram 1500 and Kia Telluride were the vehicles involved, with the Ram 1500 carrying four occupants from Wolf Point who fortunately escaped without serious injuries. The collision was attributed to the pickup truck sliding into oncoming traffic while attempting a right turn, causing the tragic accident. Responding officials, including two deputy coroners, confirmed that Michael Smith, aged 68, and Josy McLean, aged 60, both from Great Falls, lost their lives in the crash. The other two occupants of the Kia were transported to St. Patrick’s hospital in Missoula, with no information available on the extent of their injuries.
