TURKEY, N.C. (WNCN) — Four people, including two juveniles, were hospitalized after their vehicle rolled over on Interstate 40 in Sampson County Friday afternoon, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol said. According to the NCSHP, a 2007 Toyota Yaris was traveling east on I-40 just after 5 p.m. when the back right tire came off the vehicle, causing the driver to lose control. Veering off the left side of the road, the vehicle hit the guardrail and rolled over before coming to a rest in a westbound lane. Two juveniles sitting in the back of the vehicle were ejected in the crash. One was taken to WakeMed in Raleigh and one was taken to Novant Health Hospital in Wilmington, according to the NCSHP. Troopers said the 19-year-old driver was taken to Vidant Hospital in Greenville and the 20-year-old front-seat passenger was taken to WakeMed. Both were wearing a seatbelt. All lanes of I-40 have reopened, according to the NCSHP.
