2 hospitalized via medical helicopter after Miami County crash

MIAMI COUNTY, Ind. — Two people were hospitalized via medical helicopter after a crash in Miami County Monday morning. According to a Facebook post, members of the Grissom Air Reserve Base Fire Department responded to a crash involving a semi and pickup truck around 6:44 a.m. The crash reportedly occurred on U.S. Highway 31 northbound near County Road 850 South. Officials reported that a red Dodge Ram truck sustained heavy front-end damage during the crash. The crash also left a semi blocking traffic. Crews from the Grissom Air Reserve Base Fire Department and Pipe Creek Township Volunteer Fire Department extricated two people from the pickup. Medics provided those two individuals with care until helicopter pilots arrived to transport them to local hospitals.
