2 hospitalized after rollover crash with 18-wheeler, Edinburg police say
EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Two people have been taken to a local hospital following an Edinburg rollover crash that involved an 18-wheeler, police said in an update Monday evening. At approximately 5:10 p.m., a Chevrolet Impala traveling northbound on the expressway lost control, rolled over, and hit an 18-wheeler traveling in the same direction. The driver of the Impala, identified as a female by police, sustained major injuries. She was alert and responsive at the scene, police said. Police identified the passenger as a male who suffered minor injuries. He was also taken to the hospital. Police say all northbound lanes are currently closed. Traffic is being diverted at the Freddy Gonzalez off-ramp. Drivers are being asked to use alternate routes if possible. Delays are expected.
