2 fatalities in Oregon after vehicle exits highway, collides with trees
Two individuals tragically lost their lives in a single-vehicle collision on Highway 99W in the early hours of Thursday morning, as reported by Oregon State Police. Oregon State Police were called to the scene near mile marker 30.5 at approximately 4:45 a.m. where they discovered a silver Toyota Camry. Sadly, the driver, identified as 33-year-old Jackie Sue Williams from Dundee, was declared deceased at the scene. According to investigators, Williams was driving northbound on Hwy 99W, attempting to pass multiple vehicles, when she lost control of the vehicle. The car then veered off the right side of the road and collided with several trees. The passenger, 29-year-old Skyler Wayne Goodwin from Waldport, was also pronounced dead at the scene. The highway was shut down for nearly four hours while authorities conducted their investigation. The cause of the crash remains unknown at this time.
