2 die in crash that caused fire, shut down portion of State Route 176 South for hours
*Watch previous coverage on this story in the video above CLEVELAND (WJW) -- Two people died in a crash that shut down a portion of State Route 176 South near Spring Road for hours Tuesday, according to police. The crash happened around 4:20 p.m. Cleveland police say a dump truck traveling south on SR 176 hit a Jeep Patriot that slowed due to traffic conditions. The crash caused the Jeep to hit a Ford E-350. The Jeep then overturned and became engulfed. The Ford E-350 hit the median and overturned. There were two people in the Jeep; they both died at the scene. Their ages are unknown at this time, said police. A 35-year-old man in the dump truck was not hurt. A 71-year-old male and a 70-year-old female who were in the Ford E-350 were taken to the hospital for treatment. The crash is still under investigation.
