2 dead, 3 injured after East Memphis multi-vehicle crash
MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Two people are dead, and three others were injured after a multi-vehicle crash in East Memphis on Wednesday night, according to Memphis Police. At 6:51 p.m., officers responded to a three-vehicle crash at Poplar Avenue and South Yates Road. Officers said that one male was pronounced dead on the scene, and another person was transported in critical condition and later died due to their injuries. MPD said that three other people were transported in non-critical condition to the hospital. Police said that this is an ongoing investigation. According to MPD, all lanes of westbound traffic on Poplar Avenue are blocked due to the investigation.
