2 dead, 2 juveniles detained after crash in Elk Grove, police say
Two people died, and two juveniles are in custody after a crash Monday morning, the Elk Grove Police Department said.An officer spotted a Hyundai they deemed suspicious just after 4 a.m. on the east end of Brown Road, Elk Grove police said. As the officer turned to approach the vehicle, one person ran away.The car took off westbound on Brown Road at a high speed, officers said. It crashed into a Tesla at the intersection of Elk Grove Florin and Brown roads.Four people were in the Tesla. Two were killed, and the other two were taken to the hospital, officers said. Their condition is unknown.Two juveniles in the Hyundai were detained, officials said. The person who ran away was not among the two in custody.Elk Grove Florin Road is closed from Calvine Road to Heritage Hill Drive, as officers investigate. The roadway is expected to be closed for at least a few hours.See news happening?
