2-car crash injures 3

BERLIN HEIGHTS — A two-car crash in Berlin Heights left three injured on Thursday afternoon. At about 3 p.m., first responders were called to the 12200 block of Ceylon Road (Ohio 61) for the report of a two-car crash. A compact SUV was stopped in traffic behind a semi-truck and a school bus when it was struck in the rear by a southbound sedan, according to Erie County Sheriff's Office Lt. Trevor Harlow. The SUV then went left of center, off-road to the left and came to a final rest in a field. Two people were treated at the scene with minor injuries. One person was taken to the hospital with a serious leg injury. A medical helicopter was requested but was unable to fly due to weather conditions. The alleged at-fault driver was cited for assured clear distance ahead. The sheriff's office was assisted by North Central EMS as well as Huron and Berlin township fire departments.
