2 Bryant University students die in RI wrong-way crash

Two students from Bryant University, one from Massachusetts, were among those who tragically lost their lives in a fiery wrong-way crash in Rhode Island early Sunday. Reports came in at 12:27 a.m. about a vehicle traveling southbound on the northbound side of Route 99, leading to a subsequent crash on Route 146 north in Lincoln. The collision involved a Ford pickup truck driven by Denis Aguilar Campos, 41, of Chelsea, Massachusetts, who was traveling in the wrong direction. The crash resulted in a collision with a Chevrolet Tahoe carrying Jaylin Rainford, 20, of Randolph, and Chiemelie Okonkwo, 20, of Lawrenceville, Georgia. All three individuals, including Campos, tragically died at the scene. Both Rainford and Okonkwo were confirmed by Bryant University to be students at the institution, with Rainford being a member of the school's track and field team. Law enforcement continues to investigate the devastating incident.
