19-year-old dies after ski accident at Alta
ALTA, Utah (ABC4) — A young man died after colliding with a tree at Alta Ski Area on Sunday. At approximately 12:00 p.m., Alta Ski Patrol responded to a medical emergency involving a 19-year-old male in the "Nina's" area, according to Alta Town Marshal Mike Morey. He was given life-saving measures and was transported to the base area before being airlifted to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Officials believe the incident was accidental. The incident did not involve any other skiers. The victim's name is not being released at this time as authorities continue to investigate.
