18-year-old dead in fatal head-on collision in Sumter County
An 18-year-old was killed in a head-on collision on U.S. 301 north of CR-656 on Monday, just before 9 p.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol.The teen from Wildwood was driving a truck, traveling northbound, when it crossed into the center lane and collided nearly head-on with another truck, driven by a 28-year-old Webster man traveling southbound, FHP said.Troopers said the 28-year-old sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
