1 woman dead, 2 injured after Grant County crash

GRANT COUNTY, Ind. — A woman is dead and two others are injured after a head-on crash involving two Jeeps in Grant County late Thursday afternoon. According to the Grant County Sheriff's Department, first responders were called to County Road at 5800 East on 450 North on reports of a head-on two-vehicle crash. This is just north of the Landess community. Once first responders arrived, they found that three people were injured, including a woman whom medical personnel attempted life-saving measures on. The woman, 55-year-old Sandra Rochelle Beouy of Marion, was pronounced dead due to her injuries. The other two victims, both drivers, were transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. According to GCSD, a preliminary investigation indicates that a 2025 Jeep was heading east on 450 North when the driver attempted to pass another vehicle in a No Pass Zone. As the Jeep crossed the centerline, it struck another 2025 Jeep heading west. Beouy was the passenger of the westbound Jeep. Indiana State Police assisted in the investigation.
