1 teen dead, 4 in critical condition after DUI crash in Novato
(KRON) -- Five teens were involved in a solo-vehicle crash early Saturday morning that left one of them dead and the others in critical condition at the hospital in Novato, according to Novato police. Police officers responded to reports of a crash just before 1 a.m. in the area of San Marin Drive and Simmons Lane. They found a solo-vehicle crash involving five teens between the ages of 16 and 18 driving a sedan that crashed into a utility pole, police said. Police said preliminary investigations found the driver to be under the influence of alcohol. All five were transported to the hospital. One of the passengers was pronounced dead at the hospital while the other four remain in critical condition. Officers said none of the teens were Marin County residents. The investigation in ongoing.
