1 person killed in shooting and car crash in Hopewell
Early Monday morning in Hopewell, a shooting and single-vehicle crash resulted in the tragic death of one individual. The Hopewell Police Department responded to a shots fired report on Haskell Street at approximately 1:25 a.m. Officers found a man with gunshot wounds at the scene of a single-vehicle crash and, sadly, he was pronounced dead. The victim has been identified as Jesse James Rhodes, aged 38, from Hopewell. The incident is under investigation by the Hopewell Police Department, and anyone with relevant information is urged to contact Lead Detective Shawn Grant at 804-541-2284.
