1 person killed in Bingham Canyon Mine industrial accident

One person was killed in what was called an industrial accident at the Bingham Canyon Mine early Thursday The Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office is investigating after the death of the adult male at the Rio Tinto Kennecott site near West 12600 South and Bacchus Highway.A medical helicopter was brought in at 7:30 a.m. to airlift the unidentified man from the facility to the hospital.The Bingham Canyon Mine is one of the largest in the world, with Rio Tinto employing more than 2,000 people at the location.Stay with fox13now.com and FOX 13 News for the latest on this breaking news story
