1 injured in Toll Booth Accident on I-77 Southbound
KANAWHA COUNTY, WV (WVNS) - A man driving a tractor trailer struck a toll booth, resulting in the injury of a toll booth worker on the morning of May 30, 2026. Around 9:16 a.m., Cameron Huntington was driving a tractor trailer carrying steel I Beams on I-77 Southbound near mile marker 83 in Kanawha County, according to a press release from the West Virginia State Police. He allegedly attempted to drive through Lane 2 at Barrier C when an I beam struck a toll booth that had a toll booth worker named John Terry inside. The impact caused the toll booth holding 61-year old Terry to rock to the right, which resulted in Terry falling through the open window. That booth then struck a vehicle in Lane 1 of the toll booths. The driver of the impacted vehicle was not injured. Terry sustained minor injuries, from what they found after he was transported to CAMC General. The driver, Cameron Huntington was issued a citation for Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device.
