1 injured in crash, Amherst Police investigate
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- Amherst Police are investigating an accident on the I-290 West near the I-990 that left one driver injured on Tuesday. Police said a car was driving westbound in the left lane on I-290 West when it crossed over the center and right lanes and struck a tow truck. The truck was parked on the shoulder of the roadway to assist a driver. Police said one driver sustained serious injuries to his head, chest and abdomen. He was transported to ECMC. Traffic was reduced to a single lane for several hours following the crash, impacting the evening commute. Officials said all lanes of traffic are now open. Police ask anyone with video of the accident to contact the department by calling 716-689-1311.
